Isabel Mendía
Agent

Isabel Mendía was born and raised in the Cuban American diaspora of Miami, Florida, and studied History at Yale University. After graduation, she interned at Sterling Lord Literistic and Abrams Books, before joining The Cheney Agency in July 2018. She represents a range of nonfiction, including narrative nonfiction, current affairs, cultural criticism, popular history, science, and smart pop culture. She’s also looking to represent select, plot-driven literary and upmarket fiction. She is attracted to projects that have a progressive political mission, and that use storytelling to respond in some way to capitalism, colonialism, racism, and the climate crisis. Mendía also loves big idea projects that provide entertainment, humor, and hope.
